Scott Van Duinen is responsible for the origination, evaluation, execution and monitoring of investments at The Halifax Group. He has more than 12 years of experience in private equity investing, leveraged finance and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Halifax, Scott was with Merrill Lynch Capital, Merrill Lynch & Co.'s middle-market leveraged lending arm. During this tenure, he focused on underwriting, structuring, documenting and monitoring senior loans and subordinated debt used in conjunction with leveraged buyouts, acquisitions and recapitalizations. Prior to that, he spent four years with Hunt Private Equity Group identifying, reviewing and executing management buyouts and later-stage equity investments. Scott started his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young.

Scott is a former Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Texas Society of CPAs. In addition to serving as Chairman for the DFW Private Equity Forum, Scott currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nutrition Physiology Company, LLC and K2 Industrial Services, Inc. He previously served on the Board of Directors of PolyPipe Holdings, Inc., Animal Supply Company, LLC and Taylor Logistics, LLC.

Scott earned a BBA in Accounting from Southern Methodist University and an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Strategy from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
